Rose and Thistle - Building of the Temple Arch

December 11th a cold and miserable night did nothing to put off members of the Mark Degree from Pemberton and Hindley attending the meeting of Rose & Thistle Mark Lodge. The Lodge was opened by the WMM Bro. Norman Hughes, after conducting the Lodge Business, the WMM handed over control to the Demonstration Team.

George Fletcher acted as WM with the existing Chaplain Paul Ledson, SW James Champney and JW Peter Yearsley.

The   members and visitors were treated to an informative and light hearted enactment of the building of the Sacred Arch of King Solomon’s Temple. The photograph shows all the Demonstration team, comprising members of Rose & Thistle and a guest appearance by W Bro Keith Robinson from Murray Mark Lodge. The Overseers and Deacons were assisted in their work by the “Apprentice”  W Bro Gordon Turner dressed in high vis jacket and apron.
Above you can see the Overseers Keith Robinson, Norman Meadows and Alan Lloyd with the  Deacons Derek Todd and Henry Causey and the apprentice under foot at the beginning of their work.

I am pleased to report that the modern-day builders were as good as their ancient brethren and the arch stayed firm when the support was removed.

After the meeting we enjoyed an excellent festive board, and all agreed that it had been well worth turning out on such a cold and wet night.
